About Marimo Labs

Marimo Labs designs products made from real atoms in the the educational and medical fields, using additive manufacturing techniques for rapid product iteration and user co-design.

This website was formerly MagicSmokeStat, based on an electrical engineering inside joke and the medical term. Unfortunately this is rarely the "magic smoke" that comes to mind and a name change was warranted. Marimo are green fuzzy algae balls found in alpine lakes.

About me

I trained as an engineer with a focus in high-power RF systems. Then I trained as an emergency physician. I do the latter professionally, but take special joy in building and making. Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA is home.
